Under 9s v Walton

Under 9s v Walton

Last minute stand in manager Dale Gibson took charge of the under 9 team at Walton on a beautiful Sunday morning in West Yorkshire.

Captain Freddy Westmoreland won the toss and without hesitation decided to bowl.

TABS bowled well for an inexperienced team. Wickets for William Tilbrock, Edward Long and Edward Groves. There also featured the moment of the game when Freddy Westmoreland magnificently got a run out from 15 yards away from the stumps with a direct hit.

Walton posted a total of 275.

After drinks and a debrief TABS batted – Freddy and Edward Long added 30 for the loss of a wicket. Edward Groves and Luke found it hard work but did not lose a wicket.

Darley and India Sidebottom took to the crease for their debut game. Facing some accurate bowling they lost a few wickets but also ran some entertaining singles and had a really enjoyable morning.

Our final pair of Oliver Maycock and William Tilbrock scored 12 between them for the loss of one wicket.

TABS Total 211.

A decent effort from such a young side. Well played TABS.

As usual we all shook hands and gave three cheers for the opposition.

Special thanks to Peter Westmoreland and Charles Westmoreland for scoring.
Training continues on Wednesday evening.
