The under 15s travelled to Shadwell in a big league game. After a loss to them previously in the cup, the boys were gunning to get revenge on their opponents. Having lost the toss, Tabs were forced to bat first and Kilby and Westmoreland made their way to the crease. They got off to a great start going at 6 runs per over for the first 10 before the first wicket fell at 83-1. A strong opening partnership as Kilby departed for a solid 35. Westmoreland soon retired for a great knock of 40 and set the innings up for the rest of the team. Despite 2 quick wickets, Jonny White and Ed Morrison got the score up to 125-3 after 20- White finished on an unbeaten 20 and Morrison with 10 not out. After a quick team-talk they set about defending their total and had a great start as Tom Halstead and Henry Pritchard kept the score down and took 3 wickets between them. More tight overs from Morrison and Culloden followed and Shadwell never really got going. Bentley, Walsh and young Charles Westmoreland all contributed with the ball to keep Shadwell down to 98-8 after their 20. Catches were held and 2 run-outs showed the fine efforts in the field as well.
A great win which keeps them on track for a strong league run.
