TABS travelled to Stillington to take on the league leaders.
After a short warm up we won the toss and elected to bowl first on a green wicket.
Within a couple of overs TABS had snared the openers, a wicket for Rob White and a wicket for Andy Heaps- brilliantly caught at first slip by Jim Riley.
Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals with further success for White, Heaps, Williams and Thomlinson. Part time spinner Mike Cole also entered the attack and soon grabbed a couple of wickets in an economic spell.
With the score on 83:7 TABS looked fully in command, however, with the tail end batsman showing some ability along with riding a little luck we eventually bowled out Stillington for 135, with Riley taking two more catches at his beloved first slip position.
After tea we went into bat looking for a solid start. However, with the opposition pumped up we lost opener Gibson first ball LBW. Riley soon followed and with the score at 9:2 it did not look promising.
With Stillington bowling tight lines the scoreboard slowly ticked over with sensible watchful battling from Mark Knight and Johnny White.
With the opposition finally finding it tough the score passed 100 before Knight was bowled for an excellent 42 runs. With Mike Cole keen to get back to the oval to watch the football it did not take long before we reached the total required to win. Johnny hitting 50 not out and Cole 26.
In the end a comfortable 7 wicket win and 30 points.
Thanks to Emma for scoring and Phil for umpiring.
The Bank Holiday fixture away to Tadcaster is next.
Well played TABS.
